San Pedro Roads

Did I mention we're getting a new concrete road on the street behind us? Sand and other materials are delivered in huge dump trucks which they drive along our beach. Construction restarted on this our islands' main road about three months ago. (money and political problems) It takes about a month for 40 or 50 men to complete the concrete sections for each block. This month the construction is right behind us; but, there have been delays. Some of the delays have been caused by the torrential rain we've had and others by equipment problems. This dump truck, for instance, was on its way to deliver sand; but, broke down in front of us instead. Something large dangled underneath. Golf carts squeezed past. As soon as a part arrived from the mainland, it was driven away. Now it's raining again. There are about three more blocks to go.
